Life Cycle Assessment

Baumgarten is a graphics company in Blumenau, in the State of Santa Catarina, in the south of Brazil. Baumgarten recently conducted its first life cycle assessment (LCA), comparing two label stickers made from distinct materials. This is a forerunner study in the graphic market worldwide.

LCAs assess complex interactions between a product and the environment, from the extraction of raw materials to the final disposal of the product. Such studies are important drivers of sustainability strategies for companies, as they are comprehensive and scientifically based.

Geoklock, which has a highly qualified staff for LCA studies, was the critical reviewer of the Baumgarten LCA project, as per standards ISO 14040, 14044 and 14071.
