Environmental Feasibility Study and Envir onmental Restrictions Study

The choice for an enterprise’s location must observe several socio-environmental factors. The existence of permanent protection areas, of fauna and flora species protected by law, of archaeological occurrences or even of incompatibilities of a commercial or industrial activity with the community’s interests are some examples that need to be evaluated.

Depending on the environmental characteristics, these factors may even make it impossible to use the chosen location. In view of this, the preparation of a Prior Environmental Viability Study (EPVA) or of an environmental restriction study, allows foreseeing and minimizing eventual setbacks in the enterprise implementation.

These studies provide essential subsidies for a critical analysis of the socio- environmental risks of a project, contributing to decision-making about its location and necessary investments.
